Direct Deposit & Paypal Prepaid Mastercard

Ok, so I understand (at least I believe I do) that a direct deposit service is not available for your regular Paypal account and has to be done with one of those Paypal Prepaid Mastercards. Well, I just obtained one of those cards, activated it and would like to have my paychecks directly deposited but I have some concerns. Once my paycheck is directly deposited, can I send money to friends and family just like I do with my regular Paypal account? If yes, is there a fee to do so? All and any help is greatly appreciated.

The PayPal Prepaid debit card account is able to be linked with a PayPal account for transferring funds into the card account. It is only possible to transfer funds from a PayPal account to the card account, not from a Prepaid card account into a PayPal account. The funds in the card account would be able to be accessed and sent to other PayPal accounts by using the card as the funding source when sending a PayPal payment. The fee for using a card to send a Friends & Family payment to a US PayPal account is 2.9% plus $0.30. For Friends & Family payments to other countries there are additional fees.

PayPal does offer the PayPal Cash debit card. This card is directly linked to an available PayPal balance so there is no transferring necessary. The Cash card also offers direct deposit account and routing numbers that are directly linked (to a PayPal account balance) and viewable in a PayPal account profile. The Cash card is no cost and there is no monthly fee.
