Money Pool: discrepancy between amount collected and pool balance

All,

I am new to PayPal and Money Pools. I set my 1st pools and note that there is a difference between the amount collected and the pool balance, as shown the pic below. Could you tell me why that is?

This pool is for a colleague's leaving gift, and I want to check that everything works before I share the link. I did the 'pledge' of £20 myself, why is it not showing on the pool's balance?

Thank you

Aurelie

I also have a difference between money collected from my family using moneypool £2,464.00 and the balance showing in moneypool £2314.23.

I had not taken any money out of the moneypool but it is missing £149.77.

I wish I had just used bank transfers.  Any ideas anyone?  The "Help Centre" was no help at all.£149.77 seems to be missing?£149.77 seems to be missing?

I'm having the same issue - I called PayPal, spent 1.5. hours on the phone, they said they'd investigate and follow up with an email - That was over a week ago and I've heard nothing. Mine is only short by £10 (balance is showing £70 instead of £80) but it's still coming out of my pocket so very annoying.

Hi- has this been sorted for you guys? I am having the same issue, and apparently its an ongoing issue and they have contacted "the back office". for investigation.  Nothing to investigate, I got contributions of one amount, but it won't let me transfer that amount! Its all there on the page for the world to see.  Highly annoying and terribly worrying.....

Mine was sorted after a great deal of faffing about and speaking to lots of different people, trawling through every transaction etc etc... Essentially what had happened is that I received a £10 contribution to my Money Pool at precisely the same moment that I happened to purchase something via PayPal online - Instead of the contribution going into the Pool (like it should have done), it got used for my purchase instead. Thus my Pool always appeared to be £10 short. Turns out I’d accidentally spent someone else’s money. Really annoying glitch in the way the Pool’s are set up that allow this to happen!

It seems that the amount I have spent for personal use has been taken out of the money pool. Why aren't the funds ring fenced to prevent this? The money doesn't belong to me and technically, it looks like I have stolen and spent other people's money under false pretences. This is a major glitch and could result in fraud accusations.

This caused me massive greif when my extended family got the impression I had stolen money for a family holiday, I was confused, I thought it was ring fenced.  What's the point of a "money pool" if it leaks?  Are we expected to stop using the rest of paypal if we start using a money pool?
