How do I generate PayPal Client ID & Secret Key?

Prerequisites:

• Your PayPal’s email address must be confirmed.
• Before generating live API credentials, you must have a PayPal verified Business account.

Follow the below steps to generate your Client ID & Secret Key:

• Log in to the PayPal Developer Portal using your Live PayPal credentials. 

• Click on the Apps & Credentials from the top menu & select Live or Sandbox depending on whether you need an app for testing (Sandbox) or going live (Live).

• Click Create App at the top right corner.
• Enter the name of your REST API app in the App Name field, select Merchant or Platform as the type of application, and select a Sandbox business account to associate with your app.

• Click Create App. 
• Your Client ID and Secret Key will be displayed on the app details page.

• Scroll down to Feature section to request additional permissions for your REST API app that apply to your integration, such as: 
  • Advanced Credit and Debit Card Payments.
  • Vault 
  • PayPal and Venmo 
  • Native Checkout SDK 
  • Subscriptions 
  • Invoicing 
  • PayPal Here 
  • Payouts 
  • Customer disputes 
  • Log in with PayPal. 
  • Transaction search.
