Can a customer cancel a transaction and what kind of notification should I receive?

I starting using paypal on my site that ties into my back end shopping cart, magento. I have received two orders that have come thru paypal and into magento. However, i cannot find the person's name or payment in my paypal account. I am wondering if the customer's order got turned down for some reason by Paypal or the customer canceled the order. I didnt receive any sort of notification. I've listed some questions below.

 

1. Does Paypal turn down orders and if so, what kind of notification should i be receiving?

2. Can a customer cancel an order thru paypal after placing it and if so, what type of notification should i be receiving?

 

I am new to paypal from a merchant side and any help that somene can provide to me would be very much appreciated.  thanks, dweisleder

You may know this by now but when a customer purchases through Paypal, Magento only records the shipping address on the order, not the billing address.  Therefore you won't see that person as a customer.  This anonymity is a feature that many customers like about Paypal. 

 

If your order was rejected, the transaction won't be completed in Magento.  Magento records a transaction id for each order accepted.  I have had a customer cancel an order through Paypal and not contact me directly.  I did not get a notification but found it accidently when I logged in to my account.  There will be an unresolved issue that should be obvious.
