I used Paypal to purchase an airline ticket through Southwest Airlines for a trip for my work. The trip was cancelled so I contacted Southwest to inform them of the cancellation and request a refund. SW cancelled my flight and issued the refund to go into my Paypal account however now Paypal has placed a 'Temporary Hold' on the refund $$. This just doesn't make sense...
I had a similar thing happen. Had a flight cancelled due to weather. US Airways says they refunded the amount but I have not seen it on my paypal account yet. It has been almost 3 weeks since the flight was cancelled!
The temporary hold is one way PAYPAL makes money. They can collect interest on the monies they are holding for as long as they like and we are not in control of our money. The merchants refund the monies immediately.
