Refund from Argos

Can anyone tell me how long it usually takes for Argos to issue a refund back to PayPal? I cancelled a Fast track order that was paid for using PayPal which comes straight out of my bank account. It has now been 6 working days and still no refund!!! I have contacted Argos a couple of times, the first advisor told me 2-3 working days, the second told me 4-5 working days and the last one told me anywhere up to 15 working days!!! This is absolutely ridiculous, I have never know it to take so long to get a refund 😡

Once refunded you will get a paypal email to say you have been refunded.

Apart from that when they do it is up to Argos.

I had same problem few weeks ago also with argos. It would appear staff sing off different hymm sheets. I phoned them three times. Told that payment is returned automatically when order cancelled. They told me to contact paypal. Who i telephoned. Spoke to excellent chap. Who took on board what my point was. He assured me refund would be in my account that day. Within 2 hours it was. Got to say im seriously considering not using argos in paypal transactions because this is not my first problem with them. And as fresh as today i have another order which is still lying in pending. Despite funds available. Keep this up argos we will need to order now for january sales. Not xmas.

When you pay a company (rather than an ebay seller or individual), then it is always pending until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.

If they don't process that order and capture the pending payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment.
