Refund to closed account

I have a refund that according to paypal has been completed. The account it is due to appear in is being closed this week however, what shall i do about this refund if it hasn't appeared by Friday when the account will be closed?

How did you fund the original paypal payment?

The original payment was made by debit card, the card due to be cancelled

If the transfer fails cus the account is closed then it should return to your paypal balance but you may get charged a small failed transfer fee.

Hi there MonkeyFish,

When a refund is sent to an expired or cancelled card the money will still go back to the account to which the card is associated. It may take 5-7 days for this refund to appear.
