Hi,
I tried to top up my Sony Entertainment Network Wallet using Paypal. The transaction did not go through, I assume because of lack of funds. However, Paypal went ahead with the transaction and now I have a pending transaction settlement of the amount in my bank account. The transaction detail in Paypal states that the payment status is "Cancelled".
Is this transaction truly cancelled? If so how long would it take for me to get my money back? Would it be returned to the bank account or would the amount be left in my Paypal account? Appreciate any help, thank you.

Hi Zanderos,
Welcome to the Community Forum! Apologies for the delay in responding to you.
If the transaction shows as 'Cancelled' on your PayPal account, this means that we're not holding any funds, and the entire transaction would need to be re-attempted if you wanted to send it again.
If there is a hold on the funds on your bank's side, I'd advise contacting them directly to have the hold removed, as this isn't coming from PayPal. Some banks may do this with a declined payment in case there's another attempt to complete the transaction. This won't happen with a cancelled payment from our side.
You can explain to your bank that the PayPal transaction did not complete, so there is no need for the funds to be held any longer. The amount of time it takes for the funds to be released to your account balance is dependent on how quickly your bank resolve this. I hope this helps!
