A buyer scammed me, but the case was "closed in buyer's favor".
So a few days ago someone commissioned me a digital good and I invoiced them a couple hours after I sent them the good. They only paid half (because I wanted them to pay full, which is what we had agreed on, but they refused). They then reported the invoice and I couldn't get the other half.
A few days later, they opened a case with the reason "Item not received". I responded with the few proofs I could give, screenshots. Since it's a digital good, that's the only way I can do it.
Yesterday I got a notification saying "We've decided in the buyer's favor", "Case closed in buyer's favor".
Seller protection? Where? Someone scammed me and ran away with the money, I got $0 and they got refunded the half they paid. What am I supposed to do?
Thank you for reading.

Firstly you don't supply anything until you have the payment upfront?
Secondly I guess you haven't actually read the section on seller protection? Only its not a 100% guarantee of winning, you read it and then risk assess your transactions. You need to supply the proof for delivery of a virtual item and sending screenshots is not advised or accepted.

Hi, well that's what the invoice is for, so I can provide them with the product and they can pay before a specified date.
I understand, however, does that mean that anyone can scam a seller if they get invoiced for a digital/virtual product? It seems so.
What proofs other than screenshots can be sent for virtual items? Does that mean that Paypal won't do anything for me? It doesn't make sense.

Err no, you invoice the buyer, they pay and then you send them their product.
Also if you go and read the seller protection policy you will have the answers to your questions.
