I bought a few days ago an engine gasket kit from [Removed] and paid through PayPal. I didn't think much about it at the time, since it was essentially the first Google result when searching for the relevant car part.
However, I noticed today that all reviews to said site are negative, essentially calling it a scam, stating they are not shipping or for shipping wrong items.
What should I do? I'm guessing I need to wait until something arrives (if they even ship something; I haven't received a shipping number so far) unless there is a way to cancel (preferably through Paypal) for items that haven't been shipped yet.

Just to add - if you've received no emails from the vendor after paying via PayPal...don't wait too long to raise a query. Genuine online websites/services usually have very quick email confirmation delivery times once you've completed a purchase, so trust what you know to be true/good practice. Once the query is raised, you have to wait a little while before escalating to claim to allow the vendor to respond, so get in there early.
In this case, we didn't really expect this to happen as it wasn't a genuine vendor with technical issues etc that would have responded appropriately in a timely fashion.

I ordered from the same website and didn't receive what I paid for. I filed a complaint with PayPal but it was denied because the shipper provided tracking information that showed it was delivered, but it was never delivered. I checked our security cameras and no package was left on the day and time the tracking stated, or the days before or after. I have been trying to file a complaint with the post office for missing mail but it won't go thru using the tracking number provided me from PayPal (which is the same one used to show the package delivered). The email address for the company provided by PayPal does not seem to be legit either. I have emailed it 5 times with no response. The PetPec (or Aec Pee shop) is not a safe website to order from. And I am not real happy with PayPal regarding this matter either. I can't go back into my case to update my case, even though I still haven't received the package.

Hey @Bows6978,
Welcome to the PayPal Community!
I am sorry to hear you are having issues with a PayPal purchase.
PayPal offers purchase protection for cases of unauthorized use, non-receipt, and items that are significantly not as described. For steps on how to open up a PayPal case, see: How do I open a dispute with a seller? (paypal.com).
I hope this helps, have a nice day!
Rebecca.

I filed a dispute but it was decided against me because the website provided false tracking information showing it was delivered. I can't file a complaint with the post office for lost mail because the tracking number provided by PayPal isn't correct. I still haven't received it. The tracking said a lightweight package was delivered but my order was 3 quarts of moonshine (as a gift) so it would not have been lightweight. I have security cameras that pick up my mailbox and nothing was left. I've talked to my neighbors and no one has seen it. So I'm out the money with no product to show for it. And since PayPal has closed my dispute I can't communicate with them anymore regarding it. Is there any other option? I have tried emailing the company with the email address provided by PayPal (since I never got any correspondence from them) and they have not replied. Thanks!!

Just wanted to update- I did receive a full refund from PayPal for the purchase I still have not received. However, I received a text from my bank yesterday stating a charge was being attempted by 'Barn Nutrition' for the exact same amount that the fraudulent site took from my account and PayPal refunded. Be careful and keep an eye on your account. I'm thinking they attempted to get the money back under a different name cause I have made no other charges through my PayPal account. Luckily I was able to stop the charge and my bank is handling the fraud activity.
