Account I sent money to got permanently closed

I sent money to an account (international) and the account got permanently closed while the money I sent was on hold/pending. What happens to that money will it get refunded to me ? Note: I sent the money as friends and family although I was paying for something (they asked me to send via f&f)

Never use friends and family when buying, even if the seller asked you to because PayPal buyer protection does not apply to friends and family payments. Seller is not required to ship anything in such cases and could disappear on you. The money will likely be withdrawn by the recipient after 180 days if not seized by PayPal for other reasons such as liquidated damages from violating Acceptable Use Policy.
