Hey all,
I really have no idea what to do. Here's what happened. Overnight, somebody hacked and added a new email address to my PP account. Then they somehow created a new PP account (I got the email confirmation), and instantly got themselves perm limited.
I've called PP customer support. They said they can no longer find my old account. All they see is the newly created (6/17) fake account that got limited. There's no CC or bank info, and I haven't seen any sus transactions on my cards; whew. I have a PP Credit Card, so I called their help line as well and was able to verify that it's still there. I had a temp block placed on the card and paid it off just in case I never get access to it again.
But now, I really don't know what to do. I mean sure, I can create a new account, but will I be able to link my PP Credit to it (if even possible) without the new account being limited as well?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hello @LNG101010,
Welcome! Thanks for visiting PayPal's Community Forum. I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to your PayPal account. I can certainly understand how concerning this must be. If you would still like to use PayPal and PayPal Credit, I'd recommend creating a new account under a new unique email address - one you don't use on any other platform, especially social media. Next, you'd want to reach out to PayPal Credit to inquire about linking your active PayPal Credit account with your new PayPal account. Unfortunately, you may run into some issues adding any of your old funding sources such as your bank or debit / credit card since they were linked to the old account that was compromised. You may need to ask for a new card number from your bank / financial institution.
Finally, I'd recommend double-checking with our Customer Support teams to look for your old PayPal account just to see if there's any activity you don't recognize. Our teams may be able to try to find the old account by searching for one of the card numbers or potentially even your PayPal Credit info or SSN.
Best wishes on your future transactions with PayPal. My apologies for any inconvenience this has caused,
