I purchased a sub-standard item from a company in China. After much backwards and forwards getting nowhere I opened a dispute. I was offered compensation which I accepted so my dispute was closed. I have not received the compensation and the company are no longer replying to my emails or messages.
is there anything else I can do?
Sorry if there is an obvious solution but please feel sorry for an old pensioner.

You should never close a dispute unless you received a part refund or your refund (compensation) as soon as you close it or it auto closes at 20 days then that merchant can ignore you.
The dispute phase is between you and the seller and they can easily part refund you to close the dispute if you accept it.
Paypal do not get involved until you escalate to a claim.
Advice is voluntary.
