Dispute claim denied

Owing to an error on the seller's website I ended up ordering two of the same item - a recliner chair for my disabled husband. I immediately checked my PayPal account, saw that two payments had been made and tried to cancel one but it was too late. I contacted the seller via a form on their website but nothing happened. In due course two parcels were delivered but I refused to accept one and signed the driver's delivery note to this effect. After  exchanging fourteen emails with the seller and getting nowhere I began a dispute claim with PayPal which they have denied stating this was not a billing dispute. I'm an eighty year-old lady and don't understand what sort of dispute it is. I thought that PayPal was a way of protecting my money. Can anyone advise me please?

Hi Cousinkay,

Thank you for contacting the PayPal Community Forum, and welcome as a new member!

I'm afraid this is essentially not covered under the Buyer Protection Policy, as it is seen as Buyer's remorse. If you wish to appeal the claim, and change the dispute reason, we can certainly review the details of this purchase. I would recommend disputing the case as "Item Not as Described", and please upload the delivery docket confirming only 1 item was signed for, and delivered. If you would like to appeal the outcome of a claim you may be able to do so within 10 days of case closure by following these steps:

1. Log in to your PayPal account at http://www.paypal.com
2. Click ‘Resolution Centre’ near the top of the page.
3. Select 'Closed cases' in the drop down menu and find the claim you wish to view.
4. Click ‘Appeal’ in the action column.
5. Provide information for your appeal and follow the on-screen instructions.
