Help - PayPal is trying to steal my money.

PayPal froze my account and is trying to steal over $4K of our money. They claim they want to ensure customer orders were delivered. They are requesting all kinds of documents that have nothing to do with customer fulfilment, furthermore, no customer has complained. I try to answer their numerous questions but they keep asking more and requesting more documents.

Does anyone know what I can do or an attorney who can help?

What documentation as they asking for? They want to know more about your business activity and who you are to make sure you’re not selling stuff that fell off a truck and authorize to sell it.

What do you sell?

If you want, you can file a complaint at bbb.org under PayPal San Jose, CA.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I think PayPal is after much more than finding out if we are legitimate. We have a very unique business model, it's a standard website drop-ship, we don't even have a website.

My wife is a Personal Stylists, she collaborates directly with clients and offers expert advice regarding outfits, fashion accessories, makeup, and hairstyles. Her work includes evaluating client needs, advice on clothing, hairstyle, defining an original style for each client, and she curates items (clothing, accessories, cosmetics, etc.,) on behalf of her clients. Her clients appreciate discretion and her eye for details, fashion awareness, creativity, etc., In return, clients compensate her for services and items that she curates for their personal style.

I'm not a lawyer but PayPal seems to be investigating business models that they can adopt and capitalize on, below are some of the questions they asked.

PayPal asked for:

Vendor receipts?

Business license?

Synopsis of comments to support vendor receipts?

We notice this account is related to other PayPal accounts. Please explain this relationship?

Explain your business structure?

How many PayPal accounts does your business have?

Choose your item or service category (multiple choice)?

Describe your item or service?

How many days does it take for you to deliver your item?

Where do you sell your item or service?

Explain how your business works?

What is your refund policy?

What is your average fulfillment time?

How far in advance do you receive orders?

Who is the primary vendor you work with?

Do you have insurance covering any cancellation? If so, who is your insurance provider?

What is your website?

What is your website User Name?

What is your website Password?

Etc, etc, etc,

This is not normal, I consider these questions quite invasive.

Apologies, I meant "it's NOT a drop-ship or web based business."

Yeah be careful, they stole $600 from me. And if you look at the threads you'll see a common thread. "PayPal stealing my money" they tried to remove mine but put it back up after I started complaining they took it down. Get a hold of a lawyer quick. I think a class action lawsuit is going to be the only thing that going to make any change at PayPal.
