I am a minor, how do I get my money out and shut my account down?

Hello, a while ago I made an account with my father and we put some of my money in. Now apparently I can't do anything with it? How would I go about taking this money out and shutting down my account? I have tried contacting help through the message centre but both times I asked I received different answers which left me with more questions than before. What should I do to prepare my account to withdraw the money to a bank account and what do I need to have ready is my main question, because I know that either way I need to deal with it though the customer support.

Has anyone else also gone through this?

Paypal does not allow account holders under the age of 18.

PayPal asks for a birth date when you register so whilst you can make a PayPal account with false information the account will need to be verified to accept funds into your balance or lift any limits.

As you would be unable to verify your account it would be permanently locked for further use.
Minors can’t enter legal contracts so you may not have any recourse to get your money back until you were 18, unless customer services allow you to transfer the funds to a parents account?

You would never be able to use that illegally opened underage account again but once 18 Paypal may allow you to do a withdrawal of funds from that account.

OR they may allow you to open a new account and transfer the funds across for you. The latter option is not guaranteed as you have already broken their rules once but you should get one of those options.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

I'll try a bit more then. I know now they don't allow limited accounts to receive money but I really wish they would've implemented that from the start, or they simply made you do all those steps before you sign up. I would hope they could move it from my account to one of my parent's, but I doubt it.

Thank you for the help.

I think you should listen to adults and do as I am guessing that your father has said to do since you can't get in your account.. leave that money right where it is like your father told you to do 😂

And stop getting on websites that have rules against minors visiting it...start following directions and rules or you are going to have a hard row to hoe my friend 👍🏻

Both my father and me thought it would be fine to do so, and both me and my father want my money back. And I am oh so very sorry that I am trying to get access to one of the biggest platforms for money management at a young age, just seemed rather important to get my life set up for the future. Maybe these websites should in the future ask for those legal documents before allowing minors to sign up? At least I am glad they stop allowing them to receive money. However perhaps you should hop off of advice forums if you have no useful advice to give, I don't know, just some of my advice to you who is a professional, grown adult... using a laugh emoji... on a paypal help section... weird isn't it?
