I have been scammed

On March 16, 2022 I purchased a storage shed from a seller who was advertising online through what looked like a Wal-Mart post.  It was a great price, I suspected that something was fishy, so I used my PayPal account for the payment method.  A few days later I got on my computer to see the receipt and the item details, first of all they were in a foreign language I couldn't understand and in English it said a "3-Tier Necklace Bar, Ivory sageahur002".  I immediately started a dispute for unauthorized transaction. I probably chose the incorrect label for this dispute but to me that's what it was. Well PayPal closed the dispute stating it was not an unauthorized transaction. Now its been a month and I have not received this item nor have I any shipment details. I tried to open another dispute for not receiving the item, but it comes up as case closed. Is there any way I can get help in getting my money back? Thank you, Harleygma883

Call PayPal customer and give them the case ID number requesting a change to the dispute reason.

  1. https://www.paypal.com/smarthelp/contact-us
  2. Click Disputes and account limitations.
  3. Click Disputes
  4. Click Dispute a payment
  5. Click Message Us or Call Us after “This information might help” box.

To clarify, “unauthorized transaction” would not apply to your situation. You yourself completed checkout so you knowingly authorized payment. It’s more like revoking authorization but there’s no such option. Unauthorized activity means someone broke into your account without your knowledge or permission to make the purchase. “Scams” are usually dealt with by item not receive or significantly not as described options.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
