I received one tip through streamlabs and it caused a permanent limitation on my account.

While streaming on twitch through streamlabs, somebody sent me a tip of one dollar. However I also received an email from PayPal saying my account has been limited permanently. Signing in and exploring the customer service options, I have had no luck in trying to appeal. Using the message center I got an automated response saying the decision was final, did I really get kicked out of paypal for receiving a dollar (more like .50 cents)?

Receiving one dollar could be seen as suspicious. Thieves have been known to use small amounts to test accounts. Plus live streaming/broadcasting requires pre approval by PayPal. Did the permanently limited notice say you violated Acceptable Use Policy?

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I have the very same problem. I had a twitch link set up for donations years ago, never used it and even forgot about it, as my friend donated to me 1€ out of a joke, to which I was not aware of until yesterday, and with that my account got limited permanently pretty much immediately. On an email previous to the limitation I was called a seller, which I've never been a merchant or a trader on PayPal, all I did was to buy goods and services with it. My history with using PayPal is now going down the drain due to one mistake and without any warning. Well, I'll keep messaging PayPal until they'll remove my ability to contact them completely or anything else happens. Their final decision means nothing to me.

After this, I won't recommend anyone to use PayPal ever again.

I refunded the tip i got and then sent an email through the support center explaining the situation and clarifying that it was an honest mistake and that i didn't authroize nor know about the tip and that i refunded it. That's when they sent me an email saying they'll look into it and then my account got unlimited 2 days later. Hope this helps 🙂

Well, I hope I'll be as lucky as you are as this gives me a chance to possibly resolve this. I refunded the donation as well immediately, 1€ from which I got 68 cents anyway. The support I've talked to hasn't said anything beyond "this decision is final", which I simply refuse to accept and no matter or the amount of reassurance from their side will make me willing to change my mind.

Thanks for a genuine reply from someone who isn't a PP employee or a voluntary advisor who spew the same stuff.

Yeah, I've tried to explain my situation more yet they still won't budge and give me the same bs answer. Latest response is from a bot that told me to check the "Open cases" in Resolution center to which there are 0 and I can't find anything or do anything beyond that. Their website is a buggy mess, always has some issues here and there. I'll just keep writing complaints and slowly escalate this as this can basically mean they closed my account without any information apart from "we have reviewed and thus have decided" as an excuse which can up open towards a legal threat.

Yeah, you're right. But I'll do it on Monday next week. For now, I'd rather turn off my emotionally charged displeasure of PayPal for now and enjoy the Happy New Year that's soon here. So with that said, I wish you a happy new year!
