Opened a Dispute for the Full Amount and was refunded 1 cent

Has anyone else had the experience of submitting a chargeback/dispute for a transaction and the full amount was changed to 1 cent?

 

We had a subscription deducted from our business bank account:

1. On an expired bank card

2. For a cancelled service

 

The service provider says that they have not received the funds from PayPal and cannot issue a refund for a cancelled service that has not been paid to them.

 

PayPal tells us that the dispute was resolved in our favour. However, after raising the dispute with PayPal, PayPal took another 1 cent and then refunded that same 1 cent as the refund for the original disputed transaction of $167USD. 

 

It looks like PayPal staff have committed fraud on this dispute and they keep giving me the runaround instead of returning the original funds of $167.

Each time I speak to a different person they give me a different excuse why it hasn't been refunded.

 

Exceptionally frustrating and really poor customer service experience.

 

Any thoughts what to do about this?

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, I've already tried multiple times through PayPal chat, Secure Message Centre as well as Facebook Messenger. Nobody in these communication channels understood what happened and kept telling me that the case was closed. Shocking customer service.

The only person that seemed to understand what was going on was when I called the local Australian office. That person was going to take it up with the team but that went dead as well.

I've lodged a dispute now with my business bank and Mastercard.
