Paypal Giving Fund scam

I never selected a Paypal Giving Fund donation so it appears to be automatic. It is not possible to cancel it and a pain to file a complaint which is what paypal is betting on. We live in an age where companies algorythmically nickle and dime us and I've had enough. I can't cancel my account either. Came here in the old days because I thought it would be simple, secure, and quick and it was but now I can't cancel a payment immediately after making it. I will see if my bank first thing in the morning can block this company somehow from accessing my funds.

ANYBODY ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM ?

I did not sign up for this. They gave by donation to a charity I’ve never heard of them particularly don’t care about. The “Wildlife Trafficking Alliance.” As petty as it sounds I am not OK with this!

Yes, I have a similar problem.  After making a donation to a charity I support through the PayPal link on the charity's website, the PayPal Giving Fund took it upon themselves to contribute more of my money in that same dollar amount to an organization they chose, "With God, All Things Are Possible".  I have never heard of this organization.  Disputing this unauthorized withdrawal from my account has been fruitless and they have denied fault.  A PayPal telephone representative advised me to file a dispute through my bank.  I think PayPal is banking on people giving up and letting PayPal use their customers' money to make themselves look good and charitable, but we have to fight back or it will not stop.

I got a "thank you"  email for my $5 "donation ."    Very scary, they can now withdraw any amount from my credit card........I need to close the account, but I don't think I can trade on Ebay without it........Right?...................Has anyone filed with the US attorney general  or the AG district that covers Washington DC where this comes from?............... No transaction showed up in my Pay Pal Transaction history.    ..Changed my account password and removed my card as a back up to my account.........All I have now is my bank account for the time being........ Suggestions?

Please note that my bank advised me to remove my bank account as a method of payment on my PayPal account as they said that the same thing could happen again.  I don't know about the payment options on eBay.

I am dealing with this now.  I signed up to give money to a charity, but now I can find no way to stop the donations.  I can cancel my credit card and get a new number if I have to.  Were you able to resolve your issue?

PayPal never issued a refund to me, but my bank refunded me based on the fraud claim I filed through them.  My bank advised me to remove PayPal's "connection" to my bank account to prevent it from happening again.  I did remove my bank account from my PayPal account and had to cancel my credit card so that they could not access either account again.  I have not used PayPal since then.
