Refused refund in resolution centre for Vodafone/VOXI cockup

I trialled VOXI in March 21 for one month and didn't continue with it as the reception was poor.

After a year, having made no monthly payments at all (because I don't use it) out of the blue £20 came out of my bank account and went via Paypal to VOXI.

I contacted VOXI ,however they refused to agree that the payment went to them, because, despite seeing the Paypal statement showing the VOXI details, I don't have a VOXI account so it couldn't have gone to them. They also said that the Paypal statement showed Vodafones name too so it was down to them to sort it out.

Vodafone told me, yes they own VOXI, but the transaction was with VOXI as my statement showed, and they should refund me!

I then opened a dispute with Paypal, but I used the "unauthorised payment" heading when starting it and Paypal pretty much immediatley closed the dispute because in their eyes it wasn't unauthorised.

I now have no way to reopen a dispute with VOXI and can't request a refund as its closed.

Can ayone offer any advice on how to get this resolved?

Check if you had a subscription set up and cancel it?
Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments.''

Hi Kernowlass, Many thanks for the advice, I do indeed have an inactive payment shown as Voxi/Vodafone, with two payments, one in 2021 and one in 2022. Any idea how I can reopen or start another dispute?

Sadly if you had a subscription set up then you authorised the payment so the only way to get a refund is to request one from the company involved.

Bit odd though, the subscription was monthly but inactive , and no money was taken out a until whole year later and neither company will admit responsibility for it, so it's like legitimised theft...

Thanks for the help though

Small claims court against the company involved?

Also if that subscription was funded via paypal via a linked credit card then your card issuer may chargeback for you?
