I was taking part in a giveaway on instagram and "won". The user asked me to give my paypal address, which I did. She then proceeded to ask me to change my mail address in the instagram settings to a mail address that she gave me, due to some verification process. She also sent me the following picture:
"Note: receiver have to link email on his/her instagram account for payment to receiver:"
When I expressed my concerns about losing my instagram account, she explained:
"It's the verification email, it's just for 5 minutes I'll be done confirming it then you'll receive your cash immediately then remove it.
Is that even a thing? Why would PayPal ever ask for an instagram verification? Surely this must be a scam?

Obvious scam is obvious, throw the link in https://app.any.run and put in fake credentials look where it posts to, if it's not paypal's servers it's probably a scam. That's like gonna be obvious phishing or malware, they're not going to move you on to a third party platform quit wasting people's time and close this ticket.
It's a phish
