A lady contacted me via gumtree asking for an email address because her friend wanted to purchase something I was selling. The friend wanted to use a pick up agent to pick up the goods as she is not in the state at the moment. I received an email from a confirm funds email and they want me to pay the pick up agent upfront before PayPal releases any funds into my account. They wanted this to be done through a “steam” gift card. This has scam written all over it to me but I wanted to confirm as I have never used PayPal before

Yes, it’s a scam. PayPal never asks you to a) pay a third party agent, b) provide tracking before receiving payment nor c) buy a gift card in order to receive payment.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
