Why are paypal enabling Aliexpress to defraud

I order phone on Ali using Paypal to purchase. Phone ordered - 8gb Ram - 256gb Memory - Android 10. Phone received 0.5gb Ram 712mb Memory - Android 10. So in no way are goods as described

Opened dispute with Paypal - PROVING:

1)phones actual capacity,

2)Ali changing their terms and conditions after purchase - ie buyers guarantee before purchase is full refund if goods not as described, after purchase a tiny van icon appears under purchase  which when hovered over says - "if goods are not as described returns accepted buyer pays postage". So hands up who would buy from Ali if this proviso is made clear before purchase?

So today I was shocked to hear Paypals resolution - I get refund if I return phone at my cost - ignoring the complete fraudulent manner of both the seller and Aliexpress. Paypal do offer £15 for postage costs to return goods - can anyone tell me how to return tracked parcel to China for £15?

Paypal I'm sure will have a contract with Aliexpress which will contain the requirement for them to abide by their terms and conditions - if they do not then I can only guess at how many fraudulent companies are getting away with this.

I have now washed my hands of Paypal - taken this fraud to my card issuer reporting both Paypal and Aliexpress. I can only advise to use a credit card from a reputable bank

PayPal is not simply taking Aliexpress’s side. PayPal’s policy has always generally been return item for a refund for significantly not as described claims.

IMPORTANT: You may be required to return the item to the seller or other party we specify as part of the settlement of your claim. PayPal Buyer Protection does not entitle you to reimbursement for the return shipping costs that you may incur.”

Although you may fall back in chargeback rights as per “Dispute with PayPal or Your Card Issuer”.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Paypal thanks you for your loyalty Sharpie -

You are ignoring the fact that Paypal are allowing Aliexpress to ignore their own t&c's - this will be in direct infringement to Paypals own contract with Aliexpress and also with Paypals license agreement with card issuers - hopefully your licence will eventually be revoked. Intersting to see how many other customers have had the same issue with you and Aliexpress!
