A month or so ago I noticed a couple charges from PayPal on my bank account, I checked PayPal & the transactions came up as 'Uber Technologies' - I thought nothing of it since I use Uber. Then over the last few weeks I've seen 2 to 7 charges a day from PayPal, and through PayPal seeing them as 'Uber Technologies' when I definitely wasn't taking 5 or 7 Ubers' a day.
So I do some research and it seems like this is a fraud / scam where an Uber driver can get your e-mail and phone number and if you have PayPal listed as a 'automatic trusted payment source' they can repeatedly charge your account. It was all small amounts so I didn't notice at first but after going back through my bank account for several months - I found THIRTY fraud charges totaling $345.
Just wanted to let others know that this is happening and to be vigilant.
