Can someone hack your account from just your username?

So I gave someone my username and my Paypal.me address, then sent them money for a transaction I never received from them. Assuming they were a scammer, could they somehow hijack my account if they only know my username and not my e-mail or password? I want to make sure that I don't need to make an entirely new account because of a dumb mistake that I made.

Wha? Fyi, you don’t need to give out your @name or PayPal.me link to send a person money. In fact, you need the recipient’s @name, PayPal.me link, email address, or phone number to send them money.
