I ordered some clothes on Facebook from some company called Cashmere Tribe. When the payment went through on Paypal, it was for a company listed as Briquao Co. Ltd. Seems suspicious to me. Anyone else had any dealings with either of these "companies'?

Hi @steveg811,
Welcome! Thanks for joining our Community Forum. I can certainly understand how you'd be concerned there. I can't speak on the legitimacy or history of the merchant, but I can say if there's a problem with the item you purchase or if it never shows up, please Open a dispute with PayPal so we can look into the possibility of a refund.
However, while PayPal does have your back as much as we can, it's always good to do additional research on the merchant you're purchasing from. A quick google search or review into their return policies normally uncovers quite alot.
I hope this transaction turns out OK!

I also have dealt with Briquoa Co Ltd. It is a scam. Clothing was very poor quality and not as described. Sadly because I can not provide Pay pal with a link it will not file my complaint in the Resolution.

CS can DO NOTHING unless you pay the high price to ship back to China, plus it has to be in SAME condition as when they sent it and I feel like they will lie and say it isnt so they can get your money and item to resale to another sucker like we have been.

EVERYONE who has been scammed by this company should contact PayPal to file a claim and report them. I have done that and because they finally said they would return my money PayPal expect me to return the item. That is ridiculous. It would cost more to ship back to China than the $30.46 I paid for the item. The company’s response is to offer five dollars as compensation or they tell you to just give it to a friend. The item is poor quality and not as described. I contacted PayPal again to escalate my claim as I was not pleased with the outcome. I also reported that there were over 50 people that have been scammed by this company and reported it on their PayPal community form. Any reputable company would not have that amount of complaints. I encourage everyone who has been treated poorly like this to contact PayPal and report their experience. It will help others that come after us.

I certainly was mistaken about PayPal’s integrity. I had told them there was over 50 reports on the PayPal community about this company scamming customers. The company is getting away with this because they are giving you the opportunity to send back the product and get a refund. It cost more to mail back to their country than you would be getting for your refund. Who in the right mind would pay more to send something back to get a refund which is much less than what they paid for shipping. I had asked PayPal to review this case which they did. Their response was that my claim was denied because I had the opportunity to send this back and didn’t take it shame on PayPal.

I wish I had read these comments beforehand as I am in a similar situation and its going to costs $30 to send back the items they they misrepresented on their website.
they offered me the exact same thing which is insulting so this is obviously a standard response. Did open a case with paypal but looks like it will be a waste of time if I don't send the item back
Not sure what to do now - so much for me protected under the consumer act as it appears to not actually work
