Hi everyone.
I've recieved an email from Kurtis [removed] ([removed]) saying :
We have noticed an unauthorized transaction on your paypal account with reference to an amount of $499.99 USD (Bitcoin).
If you are uncertain, about this transaction get in touch with us within 12 hours by calling [Removed. Phone #s not permitted] However,
if no response is received within this time frame, then we shal release this transaction and it will be reflected on your account statement soon.
I think is a scam but I don't know if I need to do something or just leave it. Many thanks

Its a spoof so NEVER USE ANY LINK OR ANY PHONE NUMBER.
Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.
Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.
Also if they ask you to call the number in the email then it would be fake paypal agents trying to scam you for money to 'fix' something.
If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email / download an attachment OR phone them on a number in an email, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.

Hi everyone.
I received the same kind of message today and precisely two days after activating my paypal account.
In my ignorance I opened that pdf (maybe It can be infected). It says tha same text about an unauthorized transaction to my Paypal account with an amount of $499 usd.
I hope this thread can help to be alert with this kind of false transactions.
Regards,
