I have been charged A$58.80 from an automatic payment I didn’t sign up for. It’s from a company called Brainety.com. It was for a subscription charged monthly. I opened a dispute with PayPal but they answered very quickly that this is not an unauthorised payment. I have cancelled the automatic payment and I have emailed the company Brainety.com asking for this money back but my email bounced back. What else can I do?
It is a SCAM which PayPal seems to endorse. Brainety.com is a sponsored advertiser of Facebook so beware. I have read reviews of other people who have had the same problem. All the reviews declare it is a scam.
Happened to me too and even though I had emails from the company agreeing to cancel the subscription that I never signed up for PayPal said it was a legitimate transaction and refused to refund me. I have stopped trusting PayPal now and won’t use them for any future payments again
Good surprise last week, I received a message from Brainety saying they processed a refund on my PayPal account... And after some days, this refund (€38.80) was effectively on my associated bank account !
So, it takes more than 3 month to get this refund, without any help from PayPal.
I just hope other scammed people could be as lucky I am.
Yeah, they burned me,too. For a similar amount. So far, they offered to repay 30%, then 50%. I am not settling with these snakes. And PayPal has been silent so far.
I was scammed for 7 months of payments to this fraudulent subscription service. I have NO CLUE how they got my info but they did. The company refuses to refund but the last month's payment. I was sick and not able to monitor my PP account nor did I think I needed to! Any advice please?
