How do I get my money back from a F&F scam?

Yesterday, I was a victim of extorsion to a scammer from the philippines. He blackmailed me, he wanted me to send him 500$ CAD, but I ended up sending him 120$ instead cause I'm broke. I panicked and sent him the 120$ through friends&family in the slight chance that he would drop the threats. Ofcourse... he did what I didn't want him to do anyways. I reported the payment, but the case was closed in favor of the seller. The money hasn't yet been taken from my banking account. I guess that's what I get for believing in humanity. What do I do now? Should I wait for the transfer to go through and THEN report it to my bank issuer or do it before?

You sent a gift payment to someone which negates any paypal buyer protection.

So paypal can't get those funds back for you.

You can try and recall the funds via your bank or a chargeback BUT you risk your paypal account being put into the negative until you pay your debt if you succeeded as paypal have already fronted the funds for you and you would owe paypal.
