How do I get rid of a Fake Account in my name?

I have a PayPal account using a dedicated email. Someone created a fake account using my other, personal email back in March, and tried to charge $900+ to it. I reported this, changed all passwords, etc, and it was averted, but apparently the "account" still exists, as I continue to get PayPal notifications, etc, to that email. I have tried repeatedly to report this to PayPal, and each time they respond that this is an account with a verified email that belongs to me (and "thank me very much"). Do I just ignore it, or should I be worried?

I am sorry to know about what has happened. It sounds like an account may have been set up in error, possibly due to a typing error in the email which is not uncommon. Please send us an email by following the information shared in this Help Center Article with a brief description of your issue and the fact that you'd like to remove your email address from an unknown PayPal account.
