How do I receive a refund after my account was terminated?

I paid for an item through PayPal Credit. A day later, the vendor said they could not fill the order so I canceled it. Between the time I placed the order and then cancelled it, PayPal terminated my account. The charge is still there and they want payment but I know a refund was issued by the vendor. I can't get anyone at PayPal to help me address this issue.

Ideas?

Hello @ErinF

Welcome to the PayPal Help Community and thanks for posting here!

I completely understand your concern about the payment status for the canceled order. When an order gets canceled, any payment on hold/pending will be released back to your funding source. If the vendor processed the refund, the payment status will reflect as refunded in your PayPal account. When a refund is processed, the money will be credited to your original payment method.  Here's the article with the information on how refunds gets processed and the time frames : Where is my refund?

If the charge is still pending, it means that the vendor received your order but hasn’t captured the payment. Please refer this article with the information on how orders works. In this case, you have to contact the vendor again to make  sure the order gets canceled to get the refund. You can also contact the support team to look into this further.

Hope this information helps,

Bindu
