It's been 2 years and my 180-day hold has passed but I didn't receive any email from PayPal to withdraw my funds, I sent a lot of emails in support messages but they didn't respond. I don't have a live chat option in my account.

  • If you have been told your Paypal account has been permanently limited then Paypal tends to hold any funds for 180 days. This is the same time frame that buyers have to open Paypal disputes.

If no disputes are opened in 180 days then normally you are allowed to withdraw the funds. That is as long as you are over 18, account is in your legal name and the account is registered in the country where you reside.

Sometimes they confiscate funds under this policy.

Paypal also may request further documentation from you before you can withdraw those funds.

Contact options for Paypal are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages...

    1. Paypal phones (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
    2. Live chat is also randomly available.
    3. You can send them a message, during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out.
    Or
    4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a private direct message via Social Media on Facebook, Twitter/X, or Instagram pages.

I tried everything they won't even email me back. I've waited well past 180 days There's no live chat I can talk to. It's still an automated machine who keeps telling me the same thing which is "due to the status of your account, you have to call" but when I call I'm either after being hung up on by their automated system who keeps telling me PayPal systems is down or I miraculously talk to someone from customer service They just keep telling me they don't have a phone number for the back office. They can't do anything and they just keep opening up tickets for the office to reach out to which they never do for ages. I waited 24 hours 48 hours 72 hours seven days plus..I've done this 1,000,000,001 times it's the same cycle. Is incredibly frustrating and they just don't care or consider the the impact this has on people lives.

I've already received the email telling me I can't withdraw and all I have to do is just change my debit card information so I can withdraw all my funds onto there, but they won't even let me do that. Why email me after 180 days telling me I can withdraw but not let me. In what world do you just bully people out of their hard earned money and act like it's nothing.

If they're still not letting you withdraw money, then you might have to try arbitration. There are groups that specialize in getting money out of frozen PayPal accounts, though I can't link to any of them due to the rules of the forum. You'll obviously get less than the full amount, but that may be better than nothing, especially if it's a substantial sum.
