I think someone using a fraudulent account requested $2080 from me.

Same here, two time in a row. I contacted Paypal (or at lease they said they were Paypal) and the person said I will be receiving a call from "Billing". The person from "billing" asked me to log in to www.anydesk.com and wanted me to Download the software SO THAT THEY CAN RETURN my money. It sounded pretty shady. I told the person I will work with my bank to make sure that the $499.30 is not taken from me as I never authorized it.
Apparently the software is so my computer can be accessed remotely. That's a FLAG right ther.
In the meantime I canceled my payment options on Paypal and I will no longer be using them - JUST when I thought it was a very secure site.

I just spoke to Legitimate Paypal representative (Brian) who assured me that I did the right thing by hanging up on the scammers (and not downloading software). Paypal is definitely SECURE, RELIABLE and will always have our backs!!
