Is paypal really secure?

I just wanted to let someone at Paypal know about my recent experience. I logged into a website to purchase tshirts. Using the Paypal method to pay I was prompted to sign into paypal. Great! I put my email and password in and expect to pay for the item. Instead, I am prompted to change my password. Really???? I am on another website and you request me to change my password while in the middle of making a transaction??? How am I to believe this is really paypal and not some hacker??? What a stupid move to make on Paypal's part. I made the change, paid the bill and then got out of the website and opened a new on up on yours. Sure enough I had to use the new password. I immediately change the password again but guess what... when I got to paypal from that website I didn't have to log in again. Even though I exited the website, typed in Paypal fresh in my search engine I went straight to my paypal account. I do not feel like this is secure at all. I am questioning if my account is truly safe or if I am totally open to the internet? What is going on???

Hi Oldglasslady,

Welcome to the PayPal Community! Sorry for any concern this caused.

It sounds like you're referring to a service we offer called One Touch. This service is safest when activated on a device that is only used by the account holder. You can find details about this service and how to deactivate it here

I hope this information helps!

Thanks,
