If the name on the account is not a name that was ever your legal name, it is not likely that a name change will be possible. Names can be changed on an account in the following circumstances:
A legal name change
A minor misspelling
And in the case of an account for a registered business, a change in the designated contact for the company.
However a name on a PayPal account may be reviewed to potentially be changed from a nickname to a legal name if it's clear and very commonly understood to be a shortened version of the name such as Rich for Richard, or Jen for Jennifer.
Changing from a fictitious name to a legally recognized name however is not something that is supported.

Even if the account was limited and so you couldn't withdraw the funds until 180 days you would still only be able to withdraw it if your legal name was on the account. The funds in the account belong to the person named on the account who has a legal document to prove its their name.
