Paypal **bleep** me around

On the 26th of september i purchased a gaming pc from scorptec computers for a total of $3398.65. After receiving the PC, I ran into a multitude of problems with it such as loud operating noises, framerate drops and constant stuttering in every game I played. I contacted scorptec about all of these issues and when it was unable to be solved via troubleshooting i told them i wanted a refund as it is under warranty and i didnt want to deal with it, and would prefer to get a new one, i didn't say that word for word to scorptec, but i let them know i wanted a refund. Instead, they told me they weren't able to give me a refund and would only be willing to take it in and have it looked at, which i did not want as the weeks of issues had put me off, and under australian consumer law i am entitled for a refund if a product is not as advertised or has faults/issues which this gaming pc did. With the horrible response times from scorptec and the unwillingness to help, i reached out to paypal, who i used to process the payment. I talked to a couple of agents until one told me I could return it for a refund but I would have to pay for the shipping label, until a little later when I was told I could be provided a $45 voucher to cover the majority of the cost of sending it back. I asked for the return address for scorptec, packaged it up, lugged it to my post office and sent it off, providing paypal with evidence of such and the tracking number, i even contacted a paypal agent under the screen name EL who said word for word, when i asked to make sure about getting a refund, "Thank you for sharing the return tracking number (...) and for uploading your return document. We'll continue to monitor the shipment and once confirmed delivered to the same return address provided we can initiate the refund. Once refunded, funds will be credited to the same card you used which may take within 5 business days to clear, depending on your cards policy". The claim that was opened on paypal was denied after a couple of days, claiming i provided the incorrect tracking number, when in fact i didn't, as if you type the tracking number in yourself to the aus post website you will see it clearly states otherwise. So now I tried getting help for this, and agent after agent kept telling me they would escalate it, and I never hear anything back. During this time of paypal **bleep** me around, scorptec must have assumed i was sending it in for repair, which i never told them i was doing, and i was alerted to this when i received an email saying the pc was on its way back to me, meaning they basically did not follow any of their own protocol in making sure with the customer that's what it was sent in for, as i never told them i was doing this, and if i did, they would have provided me with a prepaid tracking label, which didn't happen as i paid myself for it, as paypal told me to do. I now currently have the pc sitting here in the box and i am not going to open it as i want it to be evidence of me not touching it at all. I need help here as this is a large amount of money and because I'm powerless in this situation it feels like both scorptec and paypal have taken advantage of me here.

Did you open a paypal dispute for item received but not as described.

Did you escalate to a claim?

Did you win the claim?

Did paypal give you the return address to send the item back?

If you did not go through the dispute / claim process then anything else is done as agreed between you and the merchant with paypal helping you with advice on how to get your refund if the merchant has agreed to refund you.

Yes to all of your questions, and no, both the original dispute and when i escalated it were closed in the sellers favour both times because they claimed I provided an "incorrect tracking number" when I didn't because I can literally put it into the website right now and it shows that it was delivered

ok if that is the case and tracking shows delivery of the item to the same address Paypal gave you to return the item then all you can do is appeal and hope you get an agent that is more helpful.
