Paypal dispute closed in my favour, do I post the item back?

Terrible eBay transaction and item received damaged. I wished to return and offered to help the seller with a delivery company claim as they were clearly at fault. Seller was really horrid about it all and blamed me so I opened a claim.

It has been closed in my favour but now what do I do? Paypal doesn't say what I do with the item. Do I return it at my own cost?

Thanks for your help.

Thank you. I will wait a couple of days and then email the seller to see if they are willing to send a return label. The seller has acted really erratically, name calling and saying that they can't eat because of the damage to the item. It has been really upsetting dealing with them but I don't want to keep anyones item that I haven't paid for. Thanks for your help.

Did you win an ebay dispute or a paypal dispute?

A paypal dispute. I opened both not realising that opening a PayPal would cancel the eBay one. I haven't done it before.

If you have won and been awarded a refund and paypal has not told you to return the item then you do not need to.

If a seller responds to a dispute then you normally have to return the item, if they don't respond then paypal does not tell you to.

However you can contact the seller if you wish to and offer to send the item back once they have sent you a prepaid shipping label at their cost as you have not been told to return it.
