Purchase Protection program

I was scammed and I am done filing a dispute. However, it was a personal and authorized payment and I lost over $200 ($218.41) to a scam. I selected the Friends&Family option which would lead to dispute limitations. I am told to wait for at least 30 days in order to get my dispute being reviewed. I was not aware of, I want to know how I can get in touch with the seller/merchant and the card issue holder that I was told by a user as a solution to the issue I posted here. I was also told to file a claim on the purchase protection program. I would appreciate it if I can get the links or a contact number that I can reach out to. Thank you for helping out always!

You were not told to file a claim with paypal as the friends/family option has 0 paypal buyer protection which I have already told you.

You were told to talk to YOUR card issuer if you funded your paypal payment via a credit card, but again as I have already said you may not even be covered by them as it was a gift payment (friends/family).

If you have filed a dispute it would be for an unauthorised payment and you would not be covered for that as you were not hacked and your IP address would show you made the payment.

You’re so on point and I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this crap. I’ve been disappointed in PayPal’s “protection” lately as well. I would like to share a great experience I had recently through in hopes of giving you direction forward. I recently purchased a truck on Facebook. I happen to bank through Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU). I understand you may not have that option but some reading this may. The guy wanted cash of course. Not having a brick and mortar bank where I live I attempt to send the $5,000 needed to my wife’s account to a Wells Fargo (WF) here where we live through Western Union. In following up I discovered that WF rejected the money because of the amount. So, next I was advised by Western Union to cancel the payment. So I did. Now nervous, I checked my NFCU to see that the money had been taken out of my account. Yikes! I call NFCU right away and explained the issue. They deposited the $5,000 back into my account within minutes with no required forms or extra fees on my part. They filled out an investigation form on the phone at that moment and just sent me a copy of it to my email. The takeaway here, I hope, is that perhaps PayPal is not able to protect our finances as our backs now can. If you can’t get that kind of protection from your bank or credit union then shop around. That’s how everyone gets better deals through capitalism competition here in the USA.

Paypals buyer protection is not a 100% coverall and they clearly state that they do not cover any type of motor vehicle.
