Received email from Pay_pal Customer Support via docusign about a bitcoin purchase I never made

Is this email valid? It has a docusign email address.

Of course I didn't click any link to review document. I have never bought bitcoin and definitely am not in Mongolia.

Hello @alystraea

Welcome! Thanks for visiting PayPal's Community Forum. I'm sorry to hear there's been some confusion around an email you've recently received. In short, no, PayPal does not send emails from a docusign email address. You can find more about how to Spot fake, fraudulent, or phishing PayPal email or sites here.

I hope that helps!

This seems to be a reoccurring thing. I have recieved 5 of those e-Mails jus yesterday. Additionally there is a thread in the docusign community (although much less helpfull) https://community.docusign.com/payments-99/paypal-docusign-scam-4466
Is there anything you can do about that?

Hello @AddieE,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the community!

We are sorry to hear that you have received a email notification mentioning PayPal in it. What you describe receiving is a common ploy that fraudsters use to trick people using email. Whenever you receive this type of notifications and email, then always check your resolution centre by log in to your PayPal account. If you didn't find any related details in the resolution centre means it's a fraud. Here's a great Help Center article on How to spot fake, fraudulent, or phishing PayPal emails or websites. There's also some information here that may be helpful, and this article as well.

You can also reach out to our customer support team to know what can be done next or to get an understanding of the possible solution to the issue raised. Please reach out to the Support Team during business hours by clicking the Contact option at the bottom of PayPal page.

I hope that helps!

Warm Regards,

Shradha
