I received an email from on July 26th telling me that I had to payment from an email ID very similar to the PayPal mail ID. It's just missing the "intl" in the mail address.
The mail that I received was from:
1) "[Removed]" with a button "CLAIM YOUR MONEY" that I clicked on yesterday.
2) The mail body also said "Claim it by August 25, 2023 or it will be returned to the sender."
3) There was no Transaction number in the email either.
Truth is, I never even paid attention that there is a Transaction number on every transaction that we make on our account. I should have paid attention to the fact that a PayPal mail never tells us to "CLAIM YOUR MONEY"
Now, i do not know who should I reach out to for this fraudulent activity, PayPal, The sender (which is also me), OR My Bank to which the amount should have been transferred.
Has this happened to anyone else ?
Please help,
Thanks
