Hi all. I received a notification from PayPal that someone sent me an invoice to make a payment of USD 500 for purchasing a anti virus software which I didn't make. Could I just leave it like that with out paying or how do I cancel or report this?

https://myaccount.google.com/security-checkup/6?hl=en . Wouldn't hurt to run an antivirus scan on your cellphone either.

I got TWO scammy money requests today that included note information that attempted to trick me into calling a toll-free number:
"We have detected that your paypal (sic) account has been accessed fraudulently, if you did not make this transaction, please call us our toll free (sic)number # to cancel and claim refund. if(sic) this in not the case, you will be charged $687.99 today with in (sic) 2 hours of receiving this paypal (sic) activity after 24 hours" -
I just clicked "cancel" on both these requests. Is there further action I should take?? like report the phone # or the emails? I've never received a request like this before.

I received an email earlier today saying "billing department updated our invoice" and showed me owing $479 to someone. The email went on to say
"Dear Customer You sent a payment of $479. 00 USD to Geek squad. If you did not make this payment or to cancel this transaction , please call our Help Desk number : [Removed. Phone #s not permitted]Cancellation after 48 hours from this email won't be valid for a refund. Have a great day! PayPal® Help Desk [Removed. Phone #s not permitted]
I thought it was a phishing email but when I logged into my account I say the pending payment of $479. When I clicked on details for the pending transaction the screen popped up and said "something's not right". I attached all these screenshots to this message. I tried googling that help desk number but didn't find anything.

Just received the same. Went through all the same steps and have the "something went wrong" when I try to see the details in PayPal proper. Some looking out there and this has been going around for awhile and the general consensus is that it is a scam. It is an invoice and ultimately nothing will be pulled form any of your accounts without accepting to pay it.
