Hi all. I received a notification from PayPal that someone sent me an invoice to make a payment of USD 500 for purchasing a anti virus software which I didn't make. Could I just leave it like that with out paying or how do I cancel or report this?

I received an invoice for $699.99 in Paypal that was bogus. The name of the person who supposedly sent it was not legitimate and
the charges were for an Iphone I did not order. My problem is that I can not delete it from my account. Help messages tell me to
activities, select it and hit the cancel button. I can not find a cancel button. How do you get rid of a bogus invoice.

Not real. It’s a scam. The buyer sent an estimate to trick you. Buyers don’t send Estimates or Invoices. If someone is sending money, they just send it and it appears in your account. PayPal automatically deducts their fee from the payment. No ‘verification fee’ required in order to receive payment, it’s just a lie to get you to pay in hopes of receiving large amount of money.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Hi - I'm a U.S. author and my French publisher sent me a payment. They have confirmed the transaction was sent through paypal as USD. However, on my end, it gave me odd messages about it being in "cryptocurrency." I don't deal in cryptocurrency. After several days, it stopped prompting me to "accept it," and now it shows up in my activity but doesn't give me any options at all - I can't use it to pay anyone directly from Paypal, I can't transfer it into my bank account as USD, etc. Paypal text customer support gave me a garbled response from someone who couldn't grasp English well enough to answer the question, which I expect will be my experience if I try a telephone call. Help, anyone?

Hello everyone!
So last night, I was chilling on my phone, then all of a sudden I received an alert that I got an invoice. I didn't think much of it since I thought it was from a recent donation or a refund. Okay, so I was curious to see what it was, then I saw it was from a user named Matthew [removed] for a MacPro for over $2200.00. So I called the number on the invoice thinking it was legit. The person who answered me "John [removed]" answered. Let me say, I thought it was legit. So he sent me some access codes, I told him what they were, he said the charge was taken care of then hung up on me. So then I went back onto my account and saw all these transactions of invoices that looked like I had generated them. So it was then that I caught on that I was being hacked, so I immediately changed my PIN and password and enabled touch ID on my phone. Then apparently I spoke to someone from the fraud department who said "OHHH YOU SENT OUT THOSE INVOICES???" Then hung up on me. I tried calling the number[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]which was apparently PayPal's phone number then the so-called fraud department at[Removed. Phone #s not permitted] I'm a struggling single mom who has a checking account in zeros!! Why was I targeted??? 😭
