Refund after 180 days - company in liquidation

I pre-ordered some products over 180 days ago and the company has gone into liquidation without providing the goods. I contacted PayPal but they say they can't do anything as it's outside the 180 buyer protection period. I paid using my debit card/account through PayPal, since PayPal can't help, is my only solution to contact my bank and have them chargeback PayPal? Will this cause issues with PayPal?

You have the right to do a chargeback but if its a debit and not a credit card you may find your bank refuse.

No harm in asking but always best to fund your paypal payments via a credit rather than debit card then you have a back up chance of a refund.

Also never leave it past 179 days, if you file a claim and get a refund and the item subsequently turns up then its easy enough to pay the seller again.

Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. My main concern is that PayPal will have an issue if I try to charge back the payment, I don't really want to lose my PayPal account when I haven't done anything wrong.
