Temu set up automatic payment without my consent

I would like to know if anyone has had the same issue as I've recently had? I used temu for the first time and used PayPal as a method of payment. Temu then sent me one of their standard marketing voucher offers, so l clicked on to have a look. As is usual with most of us, I got carried away browsing, and tried to put a camara into my basket. Then, after clicking on one of the options, I managed to order the camara and purchase some vouchers! I think I accidentally clicked on the purchase now option instead of putting it into my basket. At no point was I was asked for any PayPal passwords prior to purchasing. They also set up an automatic payment option on my paypal account. How and why were they allowed to set up the automatic payment system and take money from my bank account to put credit onto my temu account. It's quite disturbing that they can do this so easily. Is it another con that's similar to the one where you have to opt out of an agreement or they will automatically take out money for a new subscription. These options should be the other way around! If we want to renew the subscription or purchase again, it should be us that opt for it, not the seller.

The same thing just happened to me. I am furious that they can allow this to happen. Seems like a PayPal issue

I recently was browsing on Temu and had stuff in my cart. Then out of nowhere I see that I was charged 740$ on my PayPal by Temu without my permission! I did not want to purchase that stuff now! Now I can’t prove that I did not do it. But I know I did not! This is frustrating because I can’t get any help.

Temu is all kinds of tricky and deceitful but their refund process is actually pretty good, as long at it hasn't finished packing and left the warehouse o wait for its flight it shouldn't be a problem to cancel it, dont even have to ask CS the bot can do it for you. If the stuff has left you can contact the shipper and tell them to send it back or reject it at your door, or just set up a refund and drop it off at ups. Document everything

A lot of times what happens is people accept a free trial for a product and forget to cancel. As a buyer you must agree to a billing agreement/subscription before a merchant can take a payment from your PayPal account.

If you don't notice during checkout OR don't cancel then it auto renews. Be careful what you are accepting.

Check if you had a subscription set up and cancel it?
Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments.''

it did this to me with no items in my account, no subscription, no shipping address, and no order history. i was just setting up my account, that is all, the second it had my Paypal it changed me $27.00. i had to call my bank and get a new card. I did not check any terms and service agreements yet. it just charged me for no reason. maybe there's a fake duplicate site, or maybe we shouldn't be buying from a website that's not accredited by the BBB.

You should NOT order from Temu - they engage in child slave labor - very different than just buying something Made in China. They are a horrible, unethical company! Do not purchase from them!!

The same thing happened to me for $27. Temu says I have no orders, no shipping, nothing ever ordered, and nothing delivered. It changed my Paypal 27 for 0 items in my cart before I even put an address in. I was just setting up an account, which it says is free.

Yes, they are fraudulent but are slick about it. They will send you the merchandise you ordered, but will start setting up automatic payments and ghost charges. I just filed a claim for about 8 charges that I had no knowledge before I checked my account. Apparently, They will  Process small charges and if that goes through they will hit you for a larger charge . I have been processed a small charge like $3 and it was followed by a charge for $19.55 on the same day. On another day they processed 2 charges for $8.34 and that was followed up by a larger charge of $62.04. They are definitely scamming and you need to check all of your Temu charges and match them up to receipts that are linked to merchandise.

I'm currently having the same problem. I agree that PayPal is the biggest culprit in here. I'm using PayPal for years now, and I never had any idea that I was subscribing for automatic payments for many orders that I made in the past. This time with temu.com I was automatically charged 111€ for a big list of random items that I never added myself. This is a disgrace.
