What happened to Paypal?

I had unauthorized charges via Pay in 4 a couple months ago. Paypal kept wasting my time, spending hours on a simple phone call having to explain the same situation to six different people, every other day, for like two months. I'm exhausted having to explain this. I'm almost interested in going to a lawyer for a cease and desist, this is crazy.

I'm not paying for fraud, I've wasted two months explaining this to them. So eventually I told my bank and they handled it within a week. That was a few weeks ago and I'm still being hassled by this incredibly anxiety-inducing pay in 4 text, call and email spam that's very similar to harassment at this point. I feel I need to reiterate this: I'm not paying for unauthorized charges. Who the hell would? Thanks to my bank, I have my money back, but Paypal is still head in the dirt trying to ruin my credit instead of just cancelling the fake charges. It's pretty insane the company is more interested in losing its consumer clients rather than fixing unauthorized charges with a company? Sorry merchants. Fraud sucks. So has Paypal always been this awful, or did I dodge enough bullets and now I'm seeing what Paypal actually is? Abrasive, unhelpful, and stressful?

Paypal does not cover you for all unauthorised charges especially if the fault was on your side eg you inadvertently gave away your password or responded to a spoof email or similar.

They can't afford to bail everyone out that makes an error which is why they have to investigate to check you were the innocent party and were genuinely hacked. Takes time unfortunately.
