This is going to be a long post, here's my encounter, with a 'sugar daddy'. I tried to get the screenshots in order but there might be a mixup.
I have created a new email and edited my name, I'm in the UK, he's from the US, currently working in Germany
How we met:

I've downloaded the Hangout app on my phone and logged in with my fake new email

I have tried to get the screenshots in order, not sure if it saved in order.
So, I sent him screenshots of this page and called him out as a scammer.

This is only some of the screenshots.
I have constantly mentioned that I'm always busy with work and therefore don't talk often, he has not once asked me what I do, which is a normal question to ask in a relationship. I work in investigating fraud. It was obvious it was a scam, called him out on it. Insisted that I need to send him $100 eBay voucher to release his PayPal payment.
eBay and PayPal are two separate sites , you can pay money to someone's bank account through PayPal that's international. He's never explained how the eBay voucher would release his payment.
I also offered another alternatively payment, where he can buy me gifts from my Amazon wishlist (which is safe, it hides your address and I have used it before), which he constantly ignored. And even when he said he wouldn't force me to get a voucher, he still insisted that I buy him a voucher.
He may have '100k in his bank account' but £100, is ALOT of money to send to a stranger that's abroad. As a 'wealthy business' man with his own company, he should have known better.
If someone offers you large sums of money but you have to pay to release, IT IS A SCAM

A guy on Ebay who said his name was Alex <removed> a soldier told me he wanted to buy my TY beenie baby for 10000 but I'd have to send his cousin 300$ ebay gift card. I said I had 100$ and he said that will do and then the transfer would definitely go through if I bought the card and sent the picture of the receipt and scratch of the # of the ebay gift card. Then he said oh the money didn't go through you need the full 300 as promised for my cousin. He had an entire internet program set up saying the fbi was mailing my inbox and ebay was mailing my inbox and a account approved was mailing my inbox. Then he was threatening me with the fbi and I bought him 300 and he said oh this still didn't work you need 800$ fora business account other fbi is going to put you in jail. This happened to me this weekits been horrible . Some Alex <removed> guy he says from Texas or from Georgia

Hi @Darianp22 and everyone who's posted in the thread or who may be reading this later,
Thank you all for posting! Thank you also for your concern and caution.
Fees collected by PayPal are never collected in the form of gift cards or separate payments, and there is never a need to spend money for any type of verification. If any buyer or sender of funds ever tells you that you need to buy gift cards or send any money in order to receive funds, it is a scam. If this occurs, it is very likely that you have not received a payment at all.
Payments legitimately sent to you are received into your account and your transaction history will show the activity, even if the payment is temporarily held. If you receive an email that says that you have received a payment but one does not show in your history, that email should be treated as suspicious.
I hope this helps clarify. Please stay safe!
Olivia
