friend owes me money

Hi, my friend (now ex friend) borrowed a big sum of money from me. I transferred the money through family & friends. (I know. I was stupid for that.) Is there a way that I can get help for this? They owe me $165 left. Overall total is $365. I think they lied to me about being in desperate need.

Sadly your only option for a friends/family payment is if you funded it via a credit card, if so then you could try a chargeback via your card issuer? However again as it was a gift payment they may decline to help as well.

Do you have something like a small claims court in your country that you could take him to?

Oh! It turns out they finally replied to me. So we are currently working it out. I think there was one around where I live but it is kind of far.
