Hello -

Has anyone else transacted with a company called MediEats? I paid for a one month subscription and it turns out they had me on auto renew for 2 months unknown to me.  When I realized that they were charging me, I reached out for a refund and I was told my Claim was rejected on grounds that the service was provided to me.  I never asked for this service beyond the initial one month.  Instead, I was charged $69/ month.  I have read reviews where other customers had a similar experience yet PayPal does nothing.  I am so tired of PayPal doing business with sketchy companies where we have protection or rights and PayPal does nothing.

A lot of times what happens is people accept a free trial for a product and forget to cancel or buy something and don't see the small print about auto payments. 

As a buyer you must agree to a billing agreement/subscription before a merchant can take a payment from your PayPal account.

So if it has been set up then paypal have to legally pay it as by having a subscription you are authorising them to do so. 

If you don't notice during checkout OR don't cancel then it auto renews. Be careful what you are accepting.

Check if you had a subscription set up and cancel it?
Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments.''

Like several other people I've read about , I too have been charged without my consent or knowledge!

I believe that they catch many unsuspecting people with this unfair practice of converting an initial sign up for a set period, to an Automatic Renewal!

There is nowhere on the website to Cancel an Auto Renewal this can only be done by them on their side & conveniently you are not advised beforehand!!

In my opinion this is a totally unfair practice. I am really very annoyed by this unexpected or budgeted for expense and with the South African Rand to US Dollar exchange rate it's a lot of money which I cannot afford!

I would advise people against using them!
