Buyer had package intercepted...

So, I shipped out a package yesterday that was supposed to be en route to MA, which is fairly close to me, about 4 hours. I'm looking at tracking and the last status was 'Arrived at USPS Origin Facility' after that I see an update this morning saying 'Delivery status not updated'. I called USPS and they said the receiver had it intercepted. With all the scammers on eBay, I'm kind of worried. This guy has been a member since Aug with 1 positive feedback that seemed legit from a long time seller and we also communicated before he bought it as well. I checked and the address is real, as well as the person. When I called USPS they said that tracking would still update but I plan on ringing them up again just to get the new address.

I'm just wondering if I should be worried or am I just being a tad paranoid? I didn't know that the reciver would be able to do this, only the sender?

Hi WallFlower94,

Thanks for posting!

This is a strange one.

However, please try not to worry.

As a Seller, it's your responsibility to ship the item to the Buyer's address that is given to you by PayPal. If the Buyer then redirects the parcel to another address, you'll still have an original postage receipt to show you've sent the item to the right location.

If a PayPal Claim was ever opened. a status of 'redirected' would usually prompt our Claims's Specialists to request your postage receipt before deciding on the outcome.

I hope that makes sense and puts your mind at ease 🙂
